Charming and friendly small Italian restaurant in a busy section of Madrid. Their food is consistently delicious! When the weather permits there is outside dining - & also tables in the bar area, as well as in a below ground dining room. Pizza, salads, pastas all delicious! Reasonable prices too! So cozy that it makes for a romantic evening. Will stay on my “to go” list for any trip to Madrid!

We had a lunch there and loved it. Price and food were good and we went back for dinner. Not as pleasing, too noisy downstairs and very squeezed in. We’ll stick with lunch.

About the restaurant

"In the heart of Madrid, near the Plaza Mayor, we find this traditional Italian restaurant in the space of an old tavern from 1900.

Its traditional Italian cuisine stands out for the elaboration of its thin-crust pizzas in the wood-fired oven and the abundance of their risottos and the pasta dishes, as well as their exquisite homemade desserts. It also has a magnificent wine cellar consisting of a selection of the best Italian wines.

Divided into two floors, the area above maintains the original decoration with the brass bottle cellar and mirrors and wall tiles, and in the lower part are the caverns, bookable for groups. With the arrival of good weather guests can also eat and dine on the pleasant terrace next to the Church of San Ginés."
