We've been eating here regularly since they began and it's still our favourite restaurant! Peter the cook is always very creative and enthusiastic and is always trying new surprising things and Natasha is always lovely and friendly!

Lovely restaurant, very attentive with the desserts seeing it was our anniversary.. it was very busy so the wait between courses took a little long. Price quality is good

The staff was very welcoming and hospitable. The dishes were absolutely delicious and we had a great time. The degustation menu offered us surprising dishes. Very tasteful, both the food and the ambiance!

Food was good, however the timing in between meals this time was far off. We asked if it was busy but this wasn’t acknowledged. It took 2,5 hours having starter and main course. Been at this restaurant many times but it seems service is going down...

Restaurant has improved the menu considerably and added lovely wines. When busy it is very loud in the restaurant but food makes up for it!

You may be wondering why I am writing a review again, as I have written many reviews of Southern Cross over the years. It is my favourite restaurant in ''town''. I had made a reservation and on arrival, we were greeted by a friendly "nice to see you again and you wanted a table outside", The kind of welcome I much appreciate. And informing readers that in summertime you can have your dinner outside on the terrace behind the restaurant, which is not obvious if you walk by. About the food, there is a new feature, a 3, 4 or 5-course surprise dinner, but we kept it to the familiar three course dinner for 35 euro, with a choice of 7 starters, 7 mains and 7 deserts. We always start with our favourite bubbly, a Sparkling Shiraz. The quality remains excellent with inventive Australian cooking, ranging from crocodile, corvina (fish), barramundi (fish) and black angus to kangaroo. But also offers vegetarian dishes, chicken, etc. (see photos). Needless to say that we will be back !

Excellent meal in a great location. The 15 year anniversary menu was awesome, great fusion cooking with Australian ingredient. Wine was also very good.
