A rare pearl among our careful selection of the best addresses right now

We wanted something different from the usual tapas fare and this was just what we were hoping to find. It is Spanish/South American food with an Asian twist. Exceptional quality, innovative and creative at a sensible price. Many of the dishes are available in half or one third-size portions, so you can try more than one. There are also two different tasting menus, but as the dishes come as a ‘surprise’ we opted for a la carte. Each dish is explained in detail by the waiter when it is brought to the table (they speak English). Can thoroughly recommend the pad thai. We both loved the choice of background music - it can often be obtrusive in restaurants - but this was perfect. Would have returned the next day for our last night in Madrid, but the restaurant is closed on a Sunday evening. Will definitely be giving excellent reviews to friends in Madrid.

after a month traveling around Spain, Shalakabula was our favourite restaurant. The ingredient fusion is amazing!! Combine this with a passion by The Shalakabula team to describe every meal’s combination, makes this tapas restaurant a winner. Scallops to die for! Still debate between our party between the pork ribs & the duck. Every meal amazing, combined with great prices and attentitive happy team. Thankyou!
