Very interesting and largely delicious food. Loved our Filipina waitress. They did not make booking easy. Jackets are NOT required, but they say they are. Long pants are required. Wanted a credit card to hold the reservation, but did not offer a secure site to do so. Funny. Website says open at 9 p.m., but it opens at 8 p.m.
A bit disappointed by the impersonal nature of the dinner. Good food, creative, but the whole experience lacked the wow effect
We had a wonderful evening the food was sublime, the service was very attentive. We were absolutely thrilled to see Sergi Arola himself serve a dish himself. We would highly recommend a visit.
Very mixed experience - a lot of hit and miss, some dishes were outstanding (salmonete - espectacular), some very creative and others outright boring and out of place (tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream... really?). Wine pairing was disappointing, very expensive for being in Spain at 70eur per person and could be more focused on local wines. It was a strange mix of very interesting Spanish traditional plates revisited - which were great - and some French mix that lacked inspiration and fell short of quality (The foie gras escalope was just flat.. and the sides were quite off, the sea urchin did not have anything to do with it, as much as I love it..) Overall - we wanted to try something special, and there were indeed some highlights, still knowing where to go you can have a much more satisfying eating experience in Madrid for 1/10 of the price. Not recommended.
Everything here is first class - from the welcome at the front door (they greet you by name) to the final sweet bite. The atmosphere is clean and modern, service is friendly and professional and thankfully not pretentions. The staff are obviously proud of their product and it shows, in a good way. The food is delicious and interesting, appropriately portioned (you won't leave hungry) and presentation is spectacular! Lots of thought and creativity went into the dishes. I absolutely would recommend Sergi Arola when you want to celebrate something special, or if you just want to enjoy a creative meal.
We had a brilliant evening at Sergi Arola. The food was fantastic. We had the tasting menu for two, so got tapas, starter, a fish, a meat and dessert (we chose the fish, meat and dessert). It was expensive, but it was a special occasion, and the food and level of service was worth it. the staff were all really genuinely warm and friendly. it was relaxed and not at all snooty. we thoroughly enjoyed the evening, and would love to go back again.
More Creative but the taste of dishes not as good as 4 years before?
Tapas to start were excellent. Entrees were great as were the "something sweet" at the end. The mains left us cold however. Not bad, but nothing at all special about them, which is disappointing when the price tag is in excess of 50euro. If I could rate each dish I would give "really goods" to all except the mains which I'd struggle to give any more than a "correct" for. The wait staff were fantastic so I feel a little bad giving a less than Stella rating. But it is what it is. With high prices come high expectations.
Outstanding experience, fantastic dinner! Highly recommended to foodies! Really creative state-of-the-art tapas and dishes with amazing flavors and preparation "to the point". Wine recommendation and service were on same top level! Worth every Euro we have spent!
Lived up to the expectations for a two star restaurant. The lunch menu was excellent and very high value for money
Excellent, but expensive food, wine pairing very expensive and limited, which is surprising having so many good wines in Spain. I would rate it at lest 2 notch below Ramon Freixea.
Great view and great service. We travelled as a family and our children loved eating here. Try to sit on the terrace if not too hot. Bring a camera. At sunset the view is the best in town.
A great expirience. Expensive but for a special ok I would definitely recomend it. We had duck and lamb and nokis for appetizers. Lovely experience
The food was unbelievable but a little bit too little for the price, that is my only complaint!
very sophisticated cuisine with very good service. with the discount its even better!! great for special occasion s
Excellent, imaginative food and friendly service and a very reasonable 49 Euros for lunch, although there is a 10 Euro surcharge for most main courses.
Beautifully decorated restaurant. Great food, very rich in taste. Great service.
Expensive and soooo quiet!
Food association perfect, very tasty food and creative. Sommelier advice for sparking wine perfect, One negative thing, stomach problem after the dinner.
Starters simple text , BUT excellent main dishes and deserts !
