First time eating Indonesian food with my teenage son (who saw a review done by a youtuber and wanted to try it for the first time). It was an overall sublime experience, BUT the only drawback is if you are not used to eating spicy food. I am argentinian-american and we don't eat spicy food at all. But still the explosion of flavors I felt in my mouth was something I will not forget easy. We ordered the less spicy option in the menu but my son could still not eat it. We ordered an extra plate of fried chicken and that suffice. Next time I am in Amsterdam I will come back. You need to make a reservation. It is somewhat an expensive dinner option, but well worth it.
Wonderful meal. We were with a large group and service was great even when it got really really busy. I would definitely recommend reservations.
Super friendly staff, offering really tasty dishes in a well lit setting. We had the Celebes mixed dishes and Nasi Goreng. It must be really popular as we booked months ago, but lots of people were turning up and getting turned away.
Het eten was super lekker. Echt lekkere en verschillende smaken. Bediening was super lief. Zalige toetjes en koffie met wat lekkers ernaast was top.
The staff were attentive; atmosphere and food was amazing!! Worth visiting for sure! Their sate was to die for! Also they are near the flower market which makes it convenient for tourist like us
The restaurant lived up to our expectations
This was a lovely restaurant. The staff were very friendly. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming and the food was delicious. We had one of the set menus which was good value with a range of delicate and spicy flavours.
Hier eet je authentiek Indonesisch van een top kwaliteit.
The restaurant was smaller than imagined. That is an observation not a criticism. Where I would be critical is that we felt hurried. They wanted us to leave (without asking us to but body language spoke) and its not as if we overstayed .... we were in there less than 1 hour.
The food was fine, but not great. The service was okay (I forgive them for forgetting our drinks order) but after finishing our rice tables, one of the waiters (the head waiter?) asked if we wanted any dessert, or we should leave, because they needed the table... :-o I find that rude and unacceptable. I will not return or recommend this restaurant, although we get many (foreign) visitors in our office. Such a shame.
Great selection of set meals that give you a glimpse into the world of Indonesian cuisine. Providing an indicator of spice levels would be a helpful for those unfamiliar with the cuisine. The tables are awfully close to each other which takes away from the experience. Definitely recommend making a reservation before showing up, especially on the weekends.
One of the most tasty Indonesian restaurants in Amsterdam, i always enjoy the service as well as the food, i recommend it. It was the second time for me.
We enjoyed a very good sophisticated vegetarian rice table. Will definitely come back. The food was service fast and the ambience very nice...
We went to Sampurna because of the nice reviews and were so disappointed. The food looked good but did not taste good at all. The rice was ok but everything else tasted average at best. We left so much food on the table because it was not worth eating. I would not waste your time in Amsterdam at this restaurant. So underwhelming.
Great welcome as usual. We ordered the rijstafel with some additional spicy mackerel. The flavours we incredible. In my opinion still the best Indonesian restaurant in Amsterdam. Top. Already looking forward to my next dinner there.
Creative, extremely diversely flavorful food. very much enjoyed the experience.
This was one of our best meals of our 2 week holiday. The food was outstanding— flavorful, authentic, and the perfect level of spicy. The service was warm and friendly. Sampurna was a great find!
Delicious home made Indonesian food, surprising for such a touristic location. A little pricier than the average place but it's worth it for the quality of the food.
the state of the bathroom should always equal the same quality of the setting of the main dining area. Needs improvement here. But no complaints otherwise, service, food excellent and price fair. Asli! did not compromise taste to suite the dutch taste but genuine as if you were eating in indonesia. Terima Kashi
