I found the food just ok (I am not vegan or vegetarian), overrated reviews in the fork

Probably the best, most special and cosy plant based fine dining experience yesterday together with my mum! There is no menu card as their dishes differ depending on seasonality and all products have been produced with respect for the environment, people and animals. We went for 4 - soup, salad, main and desert - which was altered to be gluten free for me. The flavour and richness of the food was indescribable and to do it the justice it deserves I ask you to go! All wine served was natural wine. Thank you for a special evening

This place was a great find! Really good food with warm genuine service. Also the menu is quite a reasonable price. Would definitely recommended even to non vegetarians.

We had a delicious 4 course dinner; pretty and very delicious especially the ravioli and the "droppy" red wine! Unfortunately there are not too many dishes to choose from but you can choose from the combination of a 3 until 5 course menu. Unlike other restaurants the menu was more vegetables based instead of "meat replacing" food. The atmosphere is great and really cosy and cute, it was nice talking to Marit who at the same time running the restaurant lived upstairs. I definitely recommend this place!

Imaginative vegan cuisine, friendly and attentive service, good wine. Who could ask for more?

Exceptional vegetarian feast! The food was outstanding. The ordering process is confusing, as there is a set menu and you need to select how many courses you want, and since there are options it would be helpful to know what the courses were before ordering. Also, a 2.50 euro up charge for not ordering dessert seems arbitrary. No credit cards.

Honestly, I don't go out much anymore, but when I heard about this place via different channels, I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. First, the setting is cozy, without being over the top. Service fresh and friendly, and the food just plain wonderful. I say, if you want to have a good vegan/vegetarian dinner @ a funky place, look no further :)

We had a wonderful evening here. The welcome, the table, the service (!), the food, everything was amazing. The ceiling is low in part of the restaurant but this doesn't affect the noise level in any way. In fact, when you're sitting down, you don't even notice it. So no need to book a table in the serre. We'll be back very soon.

Perfect restaurant for a great vegetarian meal! Visited with my vegi wife and both of us were pleasantly surprised by the creative and very tasty dishes! The restaurant has a very homy feel and the service is lovely, what more can you ask for? :)

What a great experience... A fresh, modern approach to vegetarian food presented superbly in a 'living room' style restaurant. Delicious for vegetarians and non-vegetarians alike.

About the restaurant

Vegetarian heaven

Meat and fish are replaced with lots of love at Marits Huiskamerrestaurant, that you can even scoop on your plate yourself. Marit describes her kitchen as honest, simple, fresh, sustainable and colourful. There is no menu, but every month she changes it with a couple of dishes. The intimate, elegant decor suits that perfectly. Only opened on Fridays and Saturdays, and on other days private dining is possible.
