I'm peruvian and I've been searching for a long time a restaurant that actually represents Peru's flavours. This is one - if not the best- I've tried so far here in Paris. True flavours, good ingredients, great presentations and FINALLY accurate portions of food (usually when you go to any other peruvian restaurant they give you this ridiculous tiny portions with very bad taste). Highly recommended!

The server was very nice and accommodating during our meal, but we had to ask the check to be reprinted multiple times as they kept making mistakes. The wait was a bit long between courses, but it didn't bother us. The food is very good with large portion sizes (especially for Paris!).

We used to come once every few weeks for the great food this place would make. Tonight we were very disappointed. We brought a friend with us to share the experience of authentic Peruvian dishes. One of the napkins had visible signs of lipstick on it, one of the plates we were brought was dirty, and so was one of the knives on the table (!). My dish was sadly too salty. The black plates we were brought would slide on the glass of the tables - not a problem before, as this place used to have proper table clothes. At the end no one even asked us if we enjoyed ourselves. Also, we were the only people (apart from an American couple) who showed up on a Friday night, the place was empty. It’s a shame, but we will not come again.

My family and I had a great lunch experience at Macchupisko which has good authentic Peruvian food, located in the 15th arrondisement! The lunch menu is good, has a variety of choices and is a good value - 20 Euros for 3 courses; good size portions. I had the ceviche from the a la carte menu as my main meal as I am a fan of ceviche and it was good, fresh. We also tried the Lomo saltado, aji de gallina, arroz chaufa - everything was tasty.

Way to expensive: over 100 euro for two starters (a salad and a ceviche), two main (a pasta and a rice) and two piscos. Very mixed atmosphere: place goes from too elegant (seating) to too cheap (walls with ads all over, giant screens with Peruvian promotional ads in loop, club-type lighting), to too fake-friendly (service is friendly but a bit too pushy and straightforward in directing you to the most expensive dishes).

Exactly what we wanted --just like when we were in Peru. Very nice people. Great food.
