Great treat as you are leaving Paris
Very beautiful place to enjoy the environment and food, amazing wine. I would recommend coming back again, it’s been memorable. The detailed work in the ceiling is breath taking.
I chose the daily suggestions. The lobster was dried out and had clearly been in the fridge a long time. The cod was dry, the vegetables just steamed and had no taste. I did complain and my wife got a complimentary glass of champagne and I got a cafe complet. That helps but I was very disappointed at the food.
An amazing venue
A fabulous restaurant featuring sensational food and wine with accomplished waiters and staff. The decor is grand and elegant from a past era but the vibe is fresh, relaxed and lots of fun. Most definitely value for money. Bob E
The restaurant is French old style, a great ambiance. The food taste is great and the service is great too. We had some wine, a menu and another main dish, each dish was great. When we got the bill it was a bit annoying as this was sloppy. Firstly, all dishes were charged individually whereby we ordered as a menu. No worries, we all can make a mistake. When this was correct, they included the less expensive main dish in the menu price instead of the one which was the more expensive one which we actually ordered as part of the menu (yes, both were options within the menu, but of course ordered the more expensive one as part of the menu). At that stage, sorry, that was just off the waiters tip as I didn't sent back the bill a second time. For this level of restaurant, one mistake, no worries at all, two mistakes like that, it doesn't look good. So, apart from that, all great and I still recommend this restaurant.
EXCEPTIONAL service and decor ! Good food, but too expensive. Mr. Bernard Fraysse and crew are superb - MERCI !
The restaurant was simply magnificent providing an exceptional experience. Excellent service. The signature lamb dish was excellent, but the fish dish was disappointing.
It‘s oldfashioned in the best sense of the word. You don‘t find many places like this anymore. A „must“ if you travel by train to Paris.
This is a very special atmosphere and they have all the toney touches that make you feel you are dining in a very different time. The table side steak tartare and lamb carving felt quite over the top and special. The food was extremely good, and the bizarre "cigar" dessert one of our favorites during a long holiday of eating very well. Would very much recommend.
The service is very welcoming, the decor is very gorgeous and the restaurant is very nice.
A very nice admosphere. Friendly waiters. And good, guinine French Cuisine.
All was beautiful, the environment, the food and the service! The best experience!
The staff appeared to be far more interested in themselves than the customers A very poorly managed operation and needs help!
more cocked dishes are preferable instead of raw meat/fish dishes.
We love the ambiance and the history and beauty of the restaurant but to be honest we were a bit disappointed. The degustation menu which had a wow factor on previous occasions was not as good this time. Instead of a bottle to share of a really good French champagne the allocation was for 2 glasses each. Also when bread rolls are served I thought it appropriate that butter would be included as well and yes it was available but we had to ask each time. Also the cheese plate arrived with 3 different types of cheese and nothing else. Really? Is that acceptable because I think a professional reviewer would tear strips off the chef for plating that up.There was no wafer, savoury biscuits or fruits such as strawberries, apple or grapes. No dried fruit or nuts or anything to accompany this dish to enhance its appeal. It’s like it was prepared in a hurry to put out another course and the rest of the dish was left out. The mains of monk fish was beautifully cooked and the fillet was good too so it saved the evening
Special kind of restaurant, very kindly people.
Gorgeous restaurant, excellent decorating and nice view. Nice food & comfortable.
Such a wonderful find, they take you back to the days where a meal was an event not something to rush through. The staff were extremely nice and added much value to the ambience.
Great service as always. This was our 5th visit to the restaurant and it is an awesome experience. Never rushed as the waiter team is good at following your lead. Just slow them down with your pace. They are tuned for people in a rush but you can control them.

"HISTORICAL MONUMENT - and what if you were to give yourself the sumptuous setting of the Train Bleu? Dazzling, stunning, to each their words... The stairs, gilding, woodwork, neoclassical frescoes; this place is unique. And in addition, it straddles the platforms of the Gare de Lyon in Paris (1st floor).
LUXURY AND TRADITION - The cuisine of the Train Bleu is in the image of its interior: luxurious and refined, with beautiful products and unrivalled know-how. Among the chef's suggestions: leg of roasted lamb or the famous Foyot veal chop.
A NEW DESTINATION - All of summer 2014, restoration and modernisation works took place in this mythical restaurant. So it's a whole new Train Bleu, which has opened its doors: frescoes and cleaned paintings, stucco and gilding renovated, art furniture and tableware transformed, reinvented lounges, updated menus... A brand new Train Bleu to see and enjoy!"
