Aberto desde 1976, o Restaurante Laurentina (o Rei do Bacalhau) oferece excelente qualidade gastronómica. A ementa é constituída por pratos da cozinha tradicional portuguesa e moçambicana. O espaço tem capacidade para 184 pessoas dividido em duas salas, o que o torna um espaço perfeito para jantares de grupo e festas de empresas, além das refeições a dois claro. Com um ambiente acolhedor e confortável, qualquer refeição lhe “cairá bem”.

António Francisco Pereira, nasceu em S. Jorge da Beira, Covilhã, e ainda em criança aprendeu a cozinhar nas “patuscadas” que fazia com os amigos. Mais tarde foi para Maputo, onde abriu o Leão D’Ouro, e onde durante 20 anos dedicou-se à cozinha e aos segredos do Bacalhau. Especialista no Bacalhau, António prepara e serve o bacalhau de inúmeras formas. Pela sua passagem por Maputo, os sabores Africanos são encontrados em alguns dos pratos aqui servidos.

    Took a little while to get seated despite reservation. Octopus salad was excellent. The cod was a bit salty for my American taste, but apparently that’s how locals like it. Orange juice was fresh squeezed. Nice atmosphere.

    We had amazing food and we learned a lot about food, wine and traditions. Cod with potatoes and eggs, octopus and "camel baba" desert were above expectations. We also had roasted chestnuts w desert wine from the house.

    Excellent food & wine! The waiter was very humorous and answered all our questions. Even though we waited for 10-15mins to get the reserved table, because the saloon wasn’t ready, the meal and the atmosphere compensated.

    Good Portuguese food, could increase number of items in the menu and perhaps add general starters such as fries or snacks people from other parts of the world are familiar with in general though understandably it's a Portuguese restaurant but I feel it would be a good addition.

    Elegant but comfortable. Warm and professional service with delicious Portuguese seafood. The cod fish I had was aromatic but hearty. The clams were perfect.

    Eccellent. Waiter was very patient with us. We had a terrible flight delay but we were able to try some bacalhau specialties with a late dinner. Amazing bacalhau à Bras.

    Very good ambience, staff is super friendly, the bacalhau assado was very good (although I would prefer it to not have baked so much the top part). The desserts are magnificent.

    Good location, nice people, service was ok. Good food but not outstanding. Tried their specialty, “lascas de bacalhau”, it was fair, nothing fancy. Great wine selection!

    This is a difficult review, because I was with my wife and we ordered 2 dishes: Cod fish for me and octopus for her. I was lucky, she wasn't. My dish (bacalhau alto ao forno) was wonderful. A perfect piece of fish, tasteful, delicious. Ordered half portion. It is enough for 1 person. Order the full dish only if you want to share it. I always think the traditional side dishes for cod fish could be improved. Potatoes and a green vegetable. Maybe everybody just want to focus on the cod. Well, regarding the octopus, it was not good at all. Clearly not well prepared. Hard, Difficult to cut. So, mixed feelings. The dessert, baba de camelo, was great. A sweet not so sweet. I could repeat it. For appetizer I had cod fritters. They were offered already prepared, I mean, the waiter came with some ready dishes and I chose the fritters that were put in my table immediately. Well, fast, of course, but at the cost of feeling that the food was not so fresh. Was not cold, but was not hot. I felt like it could be better.

About the restaurant

Casa rústica com mais de 35 anos na arte de servir bacalhau, entre outros pratos de cozinha regional e algumas sugestões da cozinha africana. As sugestões de bacalhau são, pelo menos, nove. Nas entradas, também se sente o aroma do bacalhau, a que se juntam queijos variados. No bar enquanto aguarda pela refeição, pode deliciar-se com um aperitivo.

A capacidade do Restaurante Laurentina traduz-se em duas salas devidamente equipadas com ar condicionado, sendo a primeira para cerca de 84 pessoas e a segunda para 100; ideal para eventos previamente organizados, jantares de grupo e festas de empresas.

O estacionamento fica por conta da casa, por intermédio de um voucher recebido no acto de pagamento da refeição.
