Maxime Stafrach s’est installé dans l’ancien Café Sillon du jeune chef rock’n’roll Mathieu Rostaing-Tayard, et a baptisé tout naturellement son restaurant : la Table de Max. Le mobilier a été changé pour une ambiance moins bistrot, plus cosy, tables en bois aux pieds tournés, fauteuils en velours et chaises en cuir. Un grand coup de peinture a été donné, un bleu chaleureux partout. L’ancien candidat de Koh Lanta, fort de 23 ans dans la restauration s’est inspiré d’un concept découvert à Montréal, associant bœuf et homard. Il travaille avec son épouse d’origine vietnamienne et un jeune chef, Romain Madignier, ancien de La Rémanence, Le Moment et Le Visconti. La viande vient de la Boucherie Bello, le homard de Margain Marée. Pour le mangeur, le coeur balance entre bœuf mariné gravlax et arancini de homard, onglet ou demi-homard. Il suffit de revenir plusieurs fois pour tout goûter.

Ici, gardez une place pour le dessert, le coulant au chocolat Weiss et crème anglaise, ainsi que le Paris-Brest, valent à eux seuls le déplacement.

    We came to dine at this restaurant following a recommendation by a Lyon local. We were greeted warmly by a staff member upon arrival. The atmosphere was buzzing and the restaurant was clearly a favourite amongst the locals. The food was enjoyable and fairly priced. (Mashed potatoes with truffle oil is a must-try side!) When asked for wine recommendations to pair with the dishes we ordered, the waiting staff was helpful and made an excellent selection. The service throughout was excellent and the waiting staff were extremely attentive, even though the restaurant was packed. All in all it was a wonderful experience and definitely one of our favourite visits in Lyon.
