Fortunate to eat here twice in 10 years (occasional visits from abroad). Two of the best meals ever. Wonderful ingredients, expert preparation, exc lent staff. The fresh anchovy app and skatewing entree (steamed with butter lemon sauce) are favorites. A must in Brussels. Going again next week before departure!
If you want to eat really delicious mussels in town, go to La Maree. While waiting for the dishes, please check the picture which was taken on 1910 on the wall. It was the real picture of the street and tels the all story about the restaurant. I am so glad to know the owner of the La Maree and he is so cultured man with the meals. You can talk to him easilly about the meals and any thing that you want to know. The most important part of our visit is we feel so comfortable in the restaurant. All the team are helpful with smiles and little jokes. I do thank you all of you guys, and surely I will eat there once I visit the Brussels.
Very characterful restaurant very friendly staff and excellent fresh fish. A very enjoyable evening
Nice & Fresh Seafood! Especially for Mussels. My first choice in Brussels.
What a wonderful local restaurant with exceptional food and service. It was a highlight of our stay in Belgium. Absolutely recommended! But make a reservation!
Hidden Gem. EVERY ONE was friendly and nice
one of my favorite places in Brussels since many years! Constant quality and very nice waiters. Thank you !
A welcoming little restaurant that makes every diner happy as evidenced by the smiles, the compliments, and the feeling that one is with friends. Very fresh fish, perfectly prepared. We had the hearty fish soup, shrimp croquettes, and the skate. And for dessert, the tarte de maison, which is perfect after a fish meal - light, not too sweet, and absolutely delicious. Efficient and helpful staff. It’s no wonder that the front door is literally covered with stickers given for fine dining awards by Michelin, Trip Advisor and more.
Quality food and traditional dishes with a slight modern twist.
uitstekend portugees restaurant
This small restaurant is absolutely a must! Excellent food and very nice and attentive stuff. Fair prices for Brx. I keep going there with different friends and averyone agrees!
Great food and good service... consistently good, as it has been for many, many years.
It's possibly the most charming and wonderful little restaurant in Brussels. The staff is fantastic, and they know how to provide superb service while making you feel welcome and comfortable. Always returning back to this place.
Fantastic mussels best I’ve ever eaten
The sole meunière was delicious. The waiter who took care of me was very polite and hardworking. But this was not enough to make a good dining experience. Greetings needed improvement. I booked for myself 1 person thru The Fork. Upon arrival I was asked if I wanted outside or inside. I picked inside and was put at the worst table in the house, on the upper floor with poor ventilation and barely working air-conditioning. When asked if I could move to the dining room downstairs the manager said they were all booked. But I saw three tables for 2 that were open. Why did he choose to assign those tables to other parties, and not assign to me. I was on time for my reservation I should at least have the option of sitting somewhere cool and comfortable enough to enjoy a meal. He claims those were all requested first floor tables. I had to eat at my hot table upstairs. Advice to future guests, put in special requests that you only want tables on the ground floor or on the terrace. Because from my experience, I was told by the manager that I only booked a table and i got a table. The restaurant held up their end of the deal already. While what he said is true, it's not very high-standard customer service. So be prepared for that as well. But if you can get over these inconveniences. They serve delicious food and they even have very good waitresses working the tables. It was good sole meunière but overall not a dining experience. So for my friends, I would recommend they eat somethere else. This one is missable. On the same road, i see many other restos with long queues. They seem to be better choices!
Nice little restaurant with fantastic service that was efficient and friendly. Foods well prepared. My only issue is the tables and chairs are uncomfortable. The tables have a bar that hits right at the knee so it is difficult to get close to table.
The most incredible food I’ve had in Brussels! The house wine is a great value and the escargot and moules were absolutely fantastic. I also highly recommend getting their specialty dessert at the end if you have room :)
By far my best experience in a restaurant especially as I was dining alone. Waiters were attentive, polite, helpful and just lovely. The food was to die for. Would describe as a family run place, small and very professional - would highly recommend.
We were seated upstairs and getting service sometimes was difficult as a result of this but overall was a good experience and food was tasty. Not cheap but it was well worth it and would recommend to anyone who is in Brussels.
Outstanding restaurant ! The food was simply divine. The service was extremely welcoming and professional. The prices were surprisingly low. I would absolutely recommend this restaurant
