Lugar elegante, servicio profesional y tranquilo y comida exquisita. Repetiré seguro.
Es un clásico en barcelona que vale la pena probar
Platos exquisitos, servicio impecable, ambiente tranquilo para disfrutar de la comida.
The canelons gaig were ‘better than my grandma’s’. For me the bacalao, croquetas, and canelons were scrumptious but what took it to another level was the hake. I have never tasted fish this good in my whole entire life!
Nothing out of the ordinary, or that you can’t get elsewhere in other traditional Catalan restaurants. The service was excruciatingly slow (took them 20 minutes to get the bill) and we left with a disappoint. Should be said that we didn’t have time to order the set menu but opted to try out different plates from the menu de la carta. The one surprise was the potato souffle a side of the solomillo dish. All in all 2.5/5 as my partner suggested
The food and service was very good. The room was spacious and clean. It was very quiet at first and took a little to get used to but we were able to have a good time in conversation and listening to others. The food itself was good and plentiful. Not everything was jaw dropping but it all had a good flavor. We had the Traditional Menu full of the local Catalone fare. Oh, I hope you like desert because there will be plenty of it!
Almost each dish had something wrong with it. Scallops were grilled too long, pig skin was a bit soft, John Dory didn’t have much taste and wine glasses were dirty. Service was sloppy (no checkup on whether we liked the food, no introduction to what we’re eating, no question around whether we need a taxi..) Wouldn’t have complained if I paid 100 euros for the dinner for 2, but for 200 you can expect a certain level of quality
Food was overcooked and under seasoned.
The best experience!
We are very glad to have made the choice to dine at Gaig! The atmosphere is wonderful. The tables were full and there were numerous staff going back and forth, yet there was no “noise”. The food was delicious; perfectly cooked and presented. The wine list, a “Who’s Who” of Spanish wine. When we left, we said goodbye to the owners as if we had been old friends. We are looking forward to our next visit!
The food was good though the portion was a bit on the small size. Beware of the "entreteniments" at 4.90 euros a pop.
