Excellent food. Very creative, high quality ingredients and beautiful presentation. Unfortunately, our waitress was short and brusk to the point of being rude and failed to explain the menu options in any way. Luckily we were very happy with what we ordered but it turned out there were other dishes available that we had idea about.
We had a very friendly and knowledgeable host, great wines and even the chef visiting our table to answer all our questions! De long big tables are somehow inviting and adds to the atmosphere.
Envy is a wonderful experience. Art on a plate.
As always the food and service were fabulous the wine was a perfect match with each course this would be the best restaurant in Amsterdam I think would definitely recommend
Amaizing food!!! Excellent experience!! I will definitely repeat dinning here!!!!
We went on a Friday and had the 8 course menu with wine pairing. The place was half-empty (we found out later the reason). The location is beautiful. The food other than the fish was mediocre. All 8 dishes (including the sorbet and the dessert) had asparagus... I like asparagus but this was frankly ridiculous. At least 4 of the 8 dishes had a very sweet aftertaste like the amuse-douche which was a ball of white chocolate with beetroot. Simply disgusting. Wine was good but the only red one (a Merlor) was really bad. The service was excellent bun the over all experience was pretty disappointing.
Nice place but too expensive for the quality of the food served. Service was exceptionally bad, very slow and unattentive. Highly disappointing as we had great expectations of this place.
Incredible food and evening-one of the best tasting menus I’ve ever had!
Delicious food and excellent service
Nice restaurant on the Prinsengracht Canal with beautifully plated and delicious dishes. There is a choice for different multiple course menus but you can also enjoy something a la carte. Host welcomed us kindly and our waitress was very friendly and explained the different wines to us. Definitely worth a visit. Summertime, there is also a terrace of three to four tables outside where you can enjoy drinks and dinner. Do make reservations though in advance.
Envy used to be my local when I lived in Amsterdam in 2007. We returned to celebrate my Dad’s birthday and it did not disappoint. The 6 course chef’s menu with wine pairing was fantastic and they even prepared an extra dessert for my Dad. Lovely service, great food. Please do go! X
The service was not up to mark. Disengaged and uninterested service staff. The food was acceptable but extremely small portions. In sum, not value for money. Terribly expensive for the very very little food. I shall neither recommend nor visit this restaurant again.
une excellente table
Super lekker 3-gangen lunch! Hert met Fois gras sauce én koolraap! Superbe!
Very slow service, incredibly small portions for the amount of money. 3 of our party went for hot dogs after having paid 130 for an 8 course meal. Felt totally ripped off!
The food was great but we spent over 3 hours which was way longer than expected. each dish took 30 minutes and all the wait make us not sure anting to go back even if the food was great.
It is not the experience that it looks to be from the outside. Here’s why: 1. They’re selling their meals under the ‘tasting experience’ flag. It’s not sensational at all let alone creative. The head course was a little piece of deer with chorizo sauce. Not ground breaking. 2. Portions are small, to small to enjoy really. 3. Serving two deserts one of them being a chunk of butter next to wasabi ice cream. The other one was a very mediocre desert. Nothing in the menu is creative, sensational or has ground breaking tastes or styles. Summary: wannabe michelin star style restaurant but not, by a landslide, up to standards that come even remotely close to fine dining. Advice: invest in better ingredients, larger portions and a new sense of taste. Or lower the price and sell as upper midmarket dinner
Great food, great ambiance, great service, but beware for the glass door!!! There have been many people including myself that have slammed into it. Especially at night, and with a couple of drinks in you, it is very hard to see a door! You don't want broken teeth or bruised head or nose????????????
