I do not recommend this cafe. It has been a disappointing experience. We were there on a Saturday evening with a party of three. Some aspects that made our experience disappointing: (1) It was too cold (people were wearing jackets inside), (2) waiter was slow and uninterested, not knowledgeable about drinks and food on the menu, (3) toilet was a mess, (4) last round was at approximately 22:15, while the closing time is 00:00 according to their website, (5) while we were finishing our last drinks (together with a significant number of other guests) staff was cleaning the establishment. I think there are a lot of better places in Amsterdam to drink a beer and have a simple meal.
De rucola op de salade was verlept
Matige gerechten, ongeïnteresseerde bediening, koud en sfeerloos.
I reserved but for some reason they didn't know about our group. Luckily they found a solution and we could sit after some waiting. It was a super busy night and the place was understaffed which made the waiting time a bit long and messy. Beer selection was great but they didnt had everything. Had a great night though.
Really good atmosphere, beer was amazing especially the taster of 5 beers accompanied by small bites which complimented each one. Only disappointment was that they had ran out of our favourite one when we wanted to order another glass. Couldn’t really rate the cuisine question as we only ate a selection of snacks which were chicken nuggets and other fried things and were just average.
Great selection of beers (currently 750+ beers on premise) Unfortunately overall not a good experience. - Food: Disappointing We had hamburgers. Chips and bun were decent. The beef patty itself was extremely dry for all three of us. -Service: Mixed bag Our male waiter was extremely good and knowledgeable about their food and beers, and provided good customer service. A female waiter was his complete opposite, and quite rude. Example: We asked for a beer 'Hel en Verdoemenis'. She bluntly stated they don't have it and just walked away. It's impressive to think that they would know all 750+ beers by heart, but upon asking the male waiter, he at least wanted to look for it, and actually found the beer. Example 2: the same female waiter told us we were not entitled for a last round at 10pm, while closing at 11pm. When we asked why, she said it was because we wouldn't finish it. Isn't it our own behest whether to pay for drinks and end up not finishing? Overall: Won't be going here anymore. Quite unfortunate, as the Brussels Delirium is nothing like this experience.
720beers, what else?
The staff were very kind and welcoming. My girlfriend is allergic to gluten and they had many gluten free options and were very accommodating. Great beer (and good gluten free beer, which is quite an accomplishment)!
