In een molen die stamt uit 1672 huist restaurant De Jonge Dikkert. De karakteristieke elementen van Molen de Dikkert zijn mooi verwerkt in het moderne interieur. Mijn favoriet: de prachtige wenteltrap middenin de zaak en de kleine ramen waar zacht licht naar binnen valt. Sinds 1 maart 2019 staat chef Marcel Bonda aan het roer van het bekende restaurant. Marcel heeft elf jaar lang als sous-chef in de keuken van Bord’Eau* gestaan en onder andere onder Richard van Oostenbrugge en Bas van Kranen gekookt. Chef Bonda heeft een voorliefde voor ambacht en maakt de meeste dingen zelf. Ook heeft hij er een neus voor de beste ingrediënten in huis te halen. Zo heeft hij een gerecht met een rode biet dat in Italië urenlang in de grond is gegaard. Beter dan dat krijg je niet. Maar ook alleen het beste vis, vlees en groenten halen het tot in zijn keuken. Zijn culinaire creaties zijn ogenschijnlijk simpel maar goed doordacht en belachelijk goed uitgevoerd. Je kunt hier ongewone combinaties en een mooie balans in smaken verwachten.

Tip van bySam: bestel het dessert met aardpeer. Niet het eerste waar je aan denkt bij een zoet nagerecht. Maar het is een waanzinnig mooi gerecht. Ook de recensent van de Telegraaf was er weg van.

    The food was good but one of the waiter, I don't like his attitude very much...It's like I owe him money.I don't understand where his superiority comes from...like he could afford Michelin as often as I could...just a loser... But there is a guy named Dalmar who is super nice. We like him very much, so I asked his name in order to praise him here.

    Excellent dinner from chef Marcel Bonda with creative combinations. First course with white truffle supurb. Main course wild duck also perfect as the other intermediate dishes.

    Terrific dining and friendly and attentive service. The Sfeer is always gentle and warm. The new chef continues to impress with the variety of dishes. We continue come back.

    Going to the Jonge Dikkert is usually a treat, but they really missed the mark with the new menu. Four courses of cold or luke warm pickled fish with a side of cabbage vegetables, main- four small pieces of lamb, and for dessert, four different variations of aardpeer. It's the" forgotten vegetable " for a reason and it definitely doesn't make for a nice dessert. Dissapointed. €100 for a dinner and I left hungry.

    Made a reservation a couple hours in advance with a special dietary request which was not a problem for the kitchen. Food was delicious although I thought the appetizer and main course with dietary request on the small side in comparison with the normal menu. Service was fantastic as usual!
