Staff were very welcoming, friendly and accommodating. Food was varied and excellent. Truly deserves its rating on TA.
Ottimo Locale :)
Imaginative pastas were the highlight. The second course and antipasto were also very good, as was the local (Lazio) wine, but the pastas were artful and unique interpretations of classic dishes!
Environment: The restaurant had a nice appearance and was perfect for dining in. Food: We selected the the six course tasting menu. Like most fine dining experiences quantities are always conservative. The food was generally very good. The pigeon was excellant. The stuffed black pasta had a lovely flavour to it. The trio of broccili on a prawn cracker and two other items i cant recollect didnt really iinspire. Service: We dined on a Monday which i think is traditionally quiet but that wasnt a problem. The staff were very pleasant and courteous. The only thing i would note is the constant reassessment to see if we had finished a course. I dont believe it was with the intention to rush us but felt a bit like circling sharks. An analogy for me is with a good salesman you dont know if you got a bad deal. Price: On Monday a 20% discount was included. Our bill came to €120 .This included a bottle of wine at €26. I dont think it quite represented value for money. Every aspect should be flawless to attain top marks.
Beautifully presented, good flavours with not adequate but not huge servings. The wait staff were attentive and efficient, translating the Italian menu well. One note, the restaurant is tucked away 30 meters down a lane way, so don’t give up looking for it!
Fusion food. Ambience was good. Service was a tat bit slow as there was only one staff rushing up and down trying to seat customers, take order, etc.
The waitstaff was very accommodating. They read the entire menu in english and made an excellent wine recommendation. The food was creative and delicious. If in Rome ever again we'll return here with fond memories.
Amazing! The service was exceptional. Margarita and Federica were really attentive. We were never waiting, but they weren’t intrusive. We did the tasting menu. 6 courses paired with a different wine for each course. One of the BEST meals we’ve ever eaten. We are from New York, and that’s saying something. Really AMAZING meal.
Buono ... buono !!!
I so wanted to like the food and all in all the quality of the food was top notch and creative while at times being a tad too cloying. The sepia and the scallops were the standouts. This all being said many screws need to be tightened when it comes to service. There were two people attempting to work the entire room, unfortunately having to go up and down a staircase to accomplish most everything even at the sound of a most irritating bell when summoned to collect plates of food. It took 90 minutes to get through a minimal amount of food. Other parties had similar looks on their faces as well wondering if and when a next course would arrive. The body language of the guests was not one of the enjoyment of a redefined and well tuned restaurant and staff but one of noting the clearly biting off more than you can chew experience. Place has a lot of potential if they could even just hire one other person to help out so guests can focus more on the food and less on the less than stellar service.
THIS RESTAURANT! One of the best places I have eaten in my year and half living in Italy. The night started with perfect and delightful service from our waitress. She helped translate the few menu items we found unfamiliar and made recommendations for us. Each course was culinary heaven and I could have cried with delight when I ate my most succulent scallops. Our dessert was made from creamed chestnuts. It was the most delicious dessert I have ever eaten. Again, tears of joy surfaced. The service was also the best I have experienced in Italy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Oh, and did I mention the wine? Also perfect!
What a find! After an ordinary meal in the centre of Rome the previous night, Cuoco e Camicia delivered some of the best food I've eaten anywhere. Dishes were familiar and creative at the same time - such as the carbonara contrario, where the carbonara is pocketed inside the ravioli - and executed with exquisite precision.
Wonderful. Four of us had the premium tasting menu - with the appropriate wines. Quite the showcase of the chefs talent. Each plate was an adventure and the wines enhanced the experience! I would recommend it for a special night out!
We had the six course tasting. Every dish is a fanciful ride with amazing flavours. This is fine dining at a slow pace, so don't expect to be in and out quickly- it is meant to savour. The only disappointment was that we were told it included the pigeon- which I was so looking forward to- but the server had not been told that there was no pigeon. They offered several alternatives and the pork we chose was out of this world. Great food, great atmosphere- we ate at a table in the lane outside. A perfect romantic last meal in Italy.
Without a doubt one of the finest meals I've had in Italy or anywhere for that matter.. Only two reasons not to try this place. 1. You are not in Rome 2. You don't eat! Cannot fault the place, the food the service or the price! I have nothing else I can say! Simply beautiful tastes and presentation.
Only problem was that we couldn't order two different tasting menus. We had to order either two of the four course or two of the six course menu. So I had to order something that I wouldn't have otherwise. That being said the food and service was excellent. I would return.
Best restaurant in Rome so fare. Great service! Delicious food and everything that you eat there is made from the bottom with good ingredients!!
locale tranquillo, cena raffinata
