Beautiful food and wine
Something clearly went wrong with a supplier leading to a long wait for our mains, the otherwise very good front of house staff didn’t use this as an opportunity to improve our experience and it led to a delayed second service for the next round of people.
The menu was weird and the service erratic. Only 3 entrees and none was appealing.
Inventive cuisine, casual setting.. great wine list.
We showed up with an extra person in tow and they accommodated us very graciously. The restaurant is small and the tables are tiny. I would not recommend adding to your party, but the wait staff was very kind and cheerful during our visit and didn't complain at all. The food was superb and we had an excellent wine, a rose from Sicily, that was particularly excellent. It is available by the glass as well. I eat here frequently as it is just across the street from my apartment and it is now one of my favorite local spots.
Mediocre food. Service terrible.
Visited here a couple years ago. Thought it was really interesting. Recently visited again, was rather disappointed. Practically the same menu almost entirely Americans. Not nearly the original snappy place I visited before. Nothing really bad, just rather ordinary
Normal Parisian bistro. The food is a bit more refined than other comparable establishments but I didn't find the overall experience very special enough to merit a return.
We left without main dish after waiting too long. Kitchen seemed challenged. Also a hierarchy of service and we were placed low. Wine by glass mediocre. We were here some years ago when it was really good. Overall disappointing.
Loved this place, had one night in Paris, went on recommendation from several people and it didn't disappoint. Exquisite flavours and presentation. We came with a new born and quite late but they were really accommodating. Still dreaming about the veal brain dish, it was AMAZING!
Friendly staff! really good food! amazing wines
Very small plates, and very expensive. The food wasnt very tasty. It took them an HOUR to serve the main dish!!! We had a Teriblle expirience.
Food was very good. Service was good but not always attentive, which might just be my American view of it.
A one of a kind restaurant, truly unique experience and food. Do not hesitate.
Terrible experience. I have been wanting to try the Clown Bar for 2 years since I moved to Paris. I finally go with friends and encountered a terrible manager that was so rude and obnoxious that neither I nor my friends will ever go back. As soon as I arrived I went to the restroom and noticed that there was a ton of smoke in the kitchen. It looked like there was a fire that they just put it out. I could hardly breathe. I went back upstairs and the smoke was filling up the whole back of the restaurant. We asked the manager to open the door and air out the restaurant and he did. However, a customer closed the door. I went back and opened the door and the same customer closed it again. I asked the manager to please handle the situation since everyone in the back of the restaurant could not breathe and was coughing. He started getting mad and irritated with me and my friends because we wanted him to air out the restaurant and kept asking him to help us. He was so rude and mean that we decided to leave.
Second time at Clown Bar and it did not disappoint. Food was incredible, top-notch service in a very cool and original setting. A quintessential French dining experience. I will recommend to friends and will return.
absolutely lives up to the hype. tiny and the high tops are a challenge to juggle a meal for two on. in cold weather stay away from the door because the servers go in and out a lot. the food is imaginative and well executed. good price point for the area. great wine list. reserve a must .
Great service and atmosphere but bland, overpriced and disappointing food.
Food as always. Service lacking.
A must-visit if you’re in Paris.
