crème Brûlée of Chocoladefondant met een heerlijke zachte chocolade vulling en slagroom of Meloenijs met stukjes verse meloen en slagroom
We honestly felt mislead by the previous reviews and high rating. The atmosphere is rather fun with circus posters and very crammed space yet our table next to a drafty window made our stay chilly. The main course was poor in both presentation and taste, mixing up mussels, baby octopus and calamari with an uninspired curry sauce with cumin drowning the sea bass - all these ingredients were not mentioned on the menu. The rest of the dishes were average just like the serving.
Heel speciaal de circus inrichting en de live entertainment
The food was amazing , we were 8 persons and everybody was super happy with the food and the service . Thanks for a great evening .
Good food and nice staff
Simply superb excellent service
Really unique place! Very cozy and it seemed everybody knew each other but they Made us feel very welcome. Took in a variety show upstairs after our meal. Quite entertaining.
What an experience! At first sight you may think this is your standard Tourist trap located on the Zeedijk, in the famous Red Light District of Amsterdam, but.. this is not true. There is definitely more than meets the eye and there are a lot of impressions when you enter the Restaurant. Think classic Parisian Theater with Red velvet curtains and lots of props here and there with a Dutch brown bar twist. The Menu is also a bit of a surprise! It is extensive.. a bit too extensive if you ask me.. There are also set menus, whereby it is not really clear what changes except for the price.. Then when ordering we were asked if we like to go to the show.. which will be given between the Main course and dessert. The Price, which was not mentioned anywhere in advance, is E 7,50 p.p... If you look at the high prices on the menu, you would expect the show to be included. Food & presentation is not of high standard, but good, just like the Service. Recommendable for an Entertaining night!
A surprisingly delightful experience! We went with AH vouchers, and yet we were treated as royals. The food was very good without a long wait despite the fact that there was only 1 (talented) chef. Our waiter was extremely helpful, and when he burst out in song the evening became an unforgettable delight.

The real circus cafe
Welcome in the cosiest circus cafe of Europe. This is the place where eccentric people from all over the world come together to have a little chat and a delicious dinner. Once you’re inside you will immediately feel the good vibes. The walls are fully sticked with old circus posters and the service is so friendly and generous. In chairs covered with red plush you can enjoy a sensational menu!
