Nice fun place. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Very pleasant to Amercians. Nice casual dinning, reasonably priced. Crowd was youngish and had a nice energy but not overly load. Good place if you are looking for some decent food and a relaxing place when you are in Paris. And it is right next to Palace de la Republique which is a lively fun area
After searching in the area for a good place to eat I chose to have dinner at Cafe Canaille. It was a warm summer night and the idea of eating alfresco was great. I ordered a delicious gazpacho and an equally good mediterranean squid dish. The waiter was very friendly and extremely busy. I recommend this restaurant for anyone in the area.
A essayer…
Nice place but noisy with the busy street close by
Average place. Burger was good but served cold. Steak was an average piece of meat just fried. Fries were nothing spectacular. The salad and the dressing were amazing (Aminos maybe?). The duck was fantastic, however. Service was average. Mostly ignored by the staff, but when we did get them to pay attention, they were very friendly and helpful, and always got the order or request right. The vibe of the place was what was best. A perfect, stereotypical cafe in Paris. It could of been the backdrop for those "SNL" French dancing skits.
Nice place to eat, would give less on the service because the guy that was on the bar was like we weren't suposed to be there or making us a favor, but the one who was serving the tables was very nice, so 5 pointz to him 1 to the other on the bar. the food was ok we ate the planches.
Very good food, but a little disaapointing atmosphere. Might be because we ate dinner pretty early (19 on a sunday) and restarant was pretty empty
A nice experience! The food is good and the service is very kind.
Good food, good atmoshere...will visit again
Just arrived in Paris today and want d a neighbooh restaurant for dinner that was close, convenient, good menu selections and good price. This had it all! When our server noticed we were speaking English she responded in kind making us much more comfortable. The menu also had an English version which was very much appreciated! Regular, good food: we had artichoke soup which was delicious, and we ordered some salads, a chicken dish and duck confit. We shared the Dulce de Leche and the Salted Caramel Tiramisu for dessert with espresso. With a bottle of wine we were all relaxed after a long day of travel. All in all, a very good experience.
