    An almost perfect dining experience. The food was exquisite, the staff exceptional and the ambiance not to be improved upon. We were in Europe to eat and having just come from Paris and Beaune in Burgundy where we had some wonderful food at Michelin starred restaurants, I have to say this was the best overall experience. To rate the food as a 10 - Really Good - however, does the chef an injustice. The kitchen staff produce simply exceptional dishes. For the record I had the 7 course fish oriented meal and my wife the 5 course. If we lived in Amsterdam, we would be there once a month.

    We waited 40 minutes before seeing a menu. We had lovely atbel overlooking canal, ruined by 2 peopel adjacent having loud telephone conversations and conference call, so I could hear those they were talking to. on and off for 2 and half hours. I did not ask to move as no other window table and kept thinking they would finish and move. Such a high end expensive hotel the staff should have asked them to be quiet and the restaurant should have a policy on no mobile use.

    The food was ok but not as good as expected. The lobster dish was too sour and no other flavor to balance the dish. The other dishes were ok but not the WOW-factor you expect in a Guide Michelin restaurant. Before our 6-course meny we ordered some ham and oyster. We found it strange that they arrived together with the first dish. We asked for one glas of wine that would suit the whole 6-course menu and the waiter suggested one for us and we said yes. We should have asked for the price. 50 euros for one glass of wine. Ridiculous! A professional should have at least suggested 2 different types of wine in different price range and tell the price.

    I had the most wonderful experience. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, all the flavours were well pronounced, and the presentation was minimalistic but beautiful. Waiters were attentive and knowledgable. Atmosphere was relaxing. I was given a special surprise dessert for my birthday as a gift from the kitchen, a seven layer chocolate cake, and it was magnificent. I have no idea how they knew that I loved chocolate! My visit to Bord’Eau was definitely time and money WELL spent. 10/10 perfect. Excellent. Would 100% recommend!
