Great restaurant, very elegant and good for groups. Food was delicious and the service very well done. It has lots of space both inside and outside and the music is good too. Recommended!

Food and ambiance were outstanding, but the service was lacking. The wait staff would put their order into the computer then move on, with no idea or follow-up that simple orders (bread) or drinks (beer) were languishing for 20 minutes or more. I wish the experience had been better because the good and venue were great!

Again amazing!! So after being blown away last time, like said, I had to go back. And yes, once again I was amazed at how good the food was and how it has improved from the Barca that I used to know. So let me tell you… The first dish we picked was the Tartare (and I am not even a tartar person, but if you look at the picture, I already took a bite before taking the pic :-). The finely cut beef together with the scallop and the cream of oyster, was an awesome combination. Plus, if you are a big eater, the portion was more than ample. The second dish (and yes, way more my taste) was the squid. It was soooo tender, I had to ask. They cook it at low temperature and after blitz it on the grill for the flavour. I have been to Barcelona (the city ;-)) and if I would close my eyes, I could imaging being there eating the squid they serve right here in Amsterdam. Everything on the plate just lit up together and it’s like you almost smell the ocean. But yes I’m a seafood girl! After these two dishes they presented us with a test tube (like a spoom) with a, well how do I describe it best? It’s like a liquid bruschetta. You can really taste the tomatoes and a hint of garlic. And even better, we didn’t even ask or order it. They just brought it over like a little surprise (you can see the joy of this on my buddy’s face in the pic). It was almost like being at a Michelin star restaurant. Such nice people. So after the squid we wanted something meaty and we decided to ask for the catch of the day. Our host told us that they had a dish with duck and if it’s done right, it can be the best. You know that tender pink meat and the crispy skin. They defenitely did it right. It came with a base of black lentils and fennel and (one of my favorites) pata negra (the Spanish ham from the black pig, pata negra simply means black paw, that they feed only acorns). I wanted a bit more fishy stuff and I went with the Halibut and it was cooked to perfection (soft and flakey). The brined lemon was really cool as a counterpart for the earthy cep foam (a cep is a mushroom, I had to ask too). I only know the pickled lemon from dishes from Northern Africa. That cuisine and the Spanish are quite close as are the countries geographically. Like the duck with the pata negra, I have to say that I really appreciate that they try to stay close to their roots and after all, they are called Barca right? This time no chocolate dessert but the cheese. Now, I like my cheese and they pick certain ones based on the season plus they try to have local stuff as well. It was great (honestly, I was a bit tipsy by then because we went with the wine paring again), the portion was good and the buildup of the flavours was well balanced too. Besides that they make an onion confit which was a welcome change from the apple syrup (although Dutch by origin) or the fig jam. I’m not sure what we drank with the cheese but I do remember that it wasn’t the standard glass of Port and again it totally worked. Like last time the personnel was lovely. They really tend to you. They actually look if your glass is full or not and let’s be honest, here in The Netherlands that’s something. And maybe it’s silly but their glasses are nice. Maybe I’m spoiled but you know when your wine glass is too small or too heavy and that sort of takes away the whole experience? They also serve a proper espresso (you can tell by the picture that the cup isn’t all the way full, so it’s not watery but strong like it should be). I rarely write reviews but the last two times at Barca, I sort of had to because they deserve it! Keep it going Barca!

Very nice ambiante and the food and sangria were really good. However the portions were too small for the price in my opinion.

Very bad service. Waiting for approximately 45 min for each plate. Awful. Good good but the service was very very poor and the cooker was with a thuggish behavior. He looked like rushing and wishing to finish working as soon as possible.

One of my fav places to eat in Amsterdam for years now. Delicious tapas and more, the albondigas, the manchego cheese, the ossenhaas salad, the potato wedges with aoli, so gooood. Great veggie burger. Mushrooms in garlic sauce, delish. I love the look of the establishment, very trendy, sexy lighting, a large awesome bar centered right in the middle. Awesome art from local artists. It's a great place for a romantic dinner, or summer time hang out on the terrace, or even a large birthday party in the semi-private section on the left.

The food was OK but nothing special (e.g. the chickpea burger was dry, the steak OK, burgers met with positive feedback from our children) what really let this place down was terrible service. It was not that busy but trying to get the attention of the waiters was difficult and we had waits of 20+ minutes between visits to our table, we ended up stacking the plates to try to hurry up the service... but in the end our son got bored of waiting so would leave the table to track down the waiter.

My lucky night... Just returned from barcelona, meeting with friends at the Barca and they started new menu today! Good times for me, recognized the most tapas I ate in barcelona.. Veggies with romesco (mmm) sauce, boquerones, pan con tomate, chorizo and my favorite.. Gazpacho! Fresh taste, good portions.. Missed one thing though.. Calamari only fried.. Not deepfried... Gezellig hier!
