A rare pearl among our careful selection of the best addresses right now

A Largo Argentina, in una delle zone centrali della capitale più frequentata dai turisti per la vicinanza con molti siti di interesse storico e archeologico, si sta registrando ultimamente una inversione di tendenza in ambito ristorativo: alle insegne che propongono una cucina “semplice” si affiancano nuovi indirizzi che puntano sulla qualità. Uno di questi è il Barbieri 23, locale piccolo ma accogliente, il cui design è stato curato nel dettaglio ottimizzando gli spazi richiamando atmosfere metropolitane grazie all’utilizzo di determinati materiali. Colori scuri, un bancone con sgabelli, i vini e le eccellenti materie prime in mostra.

La particolarità della proposta gastronomica del Barbieri 23 è la sua cucina “rigenerativa”: non essendo presente la cappa non si può ricorrere all’utilizzo di gas, fuoco e piastre ad induzione. Lo chef Giorgio Baldari ha quindi puntata sulla ricerca di grandi materie prime e ha messo a punto alcune ricette che gli consentono di proporre piatti caldi che si contraddistinguono per l’eccellente sapore, come nel caso dello “Stinco di Agnello”.

    We loved the selection plate of raw fishes! Great approach to combine different tastes. The minimalistic interior, service and the overall atmosphere was great too! We were not that excited about deserts though (tried the chocolate cake and ricotta cake with cherries), they were ok. Overall would recommend for a stylish dinning experience!

    Really really nice. The raw salmon was awesome! I would come back again definetly, they have a very original type of menu that makes you travel all over the world!

    A delightful dining experience from the second we walked in the door. The various menu allowed us to pick several dishes to try out. The chef gave us personal presentations of the dishes, recommended suiting wine for the food, and even let us stay past closing time to enjoy dessert. Small and personal resturant that is absolutely worth a visit. Without a doubt the best food we've had during our trip to Rome. Excellent.

    My expectations were met and then some. The service, ambiance, and most importantly the food were excellent. I couldn’t have asked for more. The wine pairing alongside the creative courses were exceptional. Giorgio was our host and chef and we had a memorable dining experience. If you are looking for something different from the standard Roman fare I highly recommend Giorgio’s place. Not only is the food delicious, it is all natural. I look forward to returning during my extended stay in Rome.

    High-quality ingredients prepared in unusual -- and delicious -- ways. The restaurant is small, elegant, but with a friendly, casual vibe, and feels very personal, with the chef helping customers find the right food and drink combinations. A lovely experience and the pricing is more than fair for what is being delivered in terms of food and service.

    Excellent place. Trendy and modern vibe. The owner was very hands-on and personally served us. It was immediately obvious that he laboriously selected the menu and worked on choice pairings. The cheese platter was the best I’ve ever had. Diverse wine menu. Would definitely return.
