This was a great restaurant that was recommended to us. We arrived early and they were somewhat welcoming. The food was really good. Service was good enough but a little slow. Maybe that’s the way it is in Spain. We are American.

Terrible food terrible space terrible wait time terrible staff. Save your money and go somewhere else. I have yet to have food Witt less taste while in Barcelona. My dish came out 10 minutes before my wife...

Everything was amazing. The paella, however, was so over salted that it was barely edible. My mom and aunt ate all the seafood, but left the rice behind. A shame, really, since that's what they're famous for. The caneloni that I had, was the best I've EVER had. It was outstanding!!! Service slow but very professional. Our server was lovely

While the food was above average, the service was terrible from the get go. Waited 50 minutes after we finished our mains for a member of staff to clear our table/offer dessert and that is only because we asked for the bill. Waiter did not pour our wine which is fine but when they are pouring the wine of rich businessmen dining at the same time as us which is insulting. Tables that were seated 30 minutes after us were seen to quicker than us. Would not go back. Worst service I have received in a long time.

What a nice restaurant! According to our Girona guide it is the place for Paella!! Was a great service and great ambiance

One of the oldest and nicest restaurants in Barcelona located in a perfect spot and in a classic environment. The Xuleton is fantastic, so are the house wines. Above all, the optimal and very friendly service will let you feel “at home” instantly. A must go.

There simply isn't a better place for Paella in Barcelona. I have been coming to the city (first as a resident and now as as a visitor) for thirty years and throughout that time it has remained the same. Elegant, welcoming and fabulous value for money. It is a staple of Catalan life (used both for family celebrations and traditional Sunday lunch) and popular with tourists - but the main reason to come is that food is of the very highest quality and the setting relaxed but charmingly formal. I could not recommend it higher.

Agree with most of the comments here: Excellent Paella, good range of wines, a bit overpriced, too classy for the type of cuisine. Have just the Paella and a glass of wine!

Atmosphere was stuffy. Server was amazing. Appetisers... Fois Gras and Clams were out of this world. The paella, which is their specialty, was flavorless, and oversalted. Cannelloni was bland, and over sauced. Overall, very disappointed.

Pros: welcoming staff, menu available in multiple languages, live piano performance. Good sea snails and croquette. Cons: very over priced for both food and drinks. Paella was just okay (it was very salty and the seafood wasn't in great quality in the paella). Seafood sampler (small) had very average mussels and shrimp (not very fresh). Tapas samples were much smaller than expected and it just didn't taste very authentic. Overall the food quality was disappointing and a bit of a touristy trap.

Do yourself a favor and make a reservation prior to your visit! The food is amazing as the service is great. We ordered the iberico ham as a starter, cava sangria and the traditional paella with lobster. We have made this a must have on every trip to Barcelona. We did learn it's much easier to make a reservation rather than to just show up. Enjoy!

The beautiful smell of seafood as we entered, lovely old world service, great Paella and Catalan spinach, Sangria. Dessert not it's strength I think but OK. A great experience and one of the highlights of our trip

The waitress was terrible and didn’t even bother to ask how we wanted the steak. Had to remind her twice for the wine and ketchup . Paella was a bit salty.
